At Musee du Quai Branly,I researched a skirt of 500 pleats that originates from the Miao people.

The Miao people have adapted their pleating and dyeing methods to their environments as a testament to their respect for nature.

A poetic text describing the ancient Chinese philosopher Chuang Tzu and Taoism defines nature as a being that is constantly spontaneously transforming and dictates that the artist must draw upon this spontaneity.

In effect, this look merges the tradition of pleating and the spontaneity of nature to create a look that carries the same energy. A loose weaving technique inspired by a project collaboration of a woven skirt became a key element.
